Back in the saddle

This may be cut short... my computer is acting all slow and annoying tonight. I thought I'd start the week off right and post a photo of Simon from the weekend!

I'm with Tara - I'm happy to still be able to give Simon back at the end of the day. I'd love to have him for a weekend... but I'm sure by the end of it I'd be ready to sleep for a week! Even after an afternoon/evening on Saturday Alex was totally exhausted!

I managed to get on the treadmill today and it felt great! It helped my mood so much and wasn't near as difficult as I anticipated after being sedentary for a week now.

Food today:
BF - weight control oatmeal (2), strawberry yogurt (TARA - I love all of the flavours too!!! I'm just a dolt who bought yogurts that expire TODAY!!! I will be eating a lot of yogurt over the next few days!)(1)
Lunch - 1 tbsp hummus (0), cheese slice (1), chicken breast (1), cottage cheese and fruit cup (2)
Snacks - dill pickles (0), carrots (0), 2 tbsp W&B hummus (1)
Dinner - lettuce (0), chick peas (2), cheese (1), cucumber and tomato (0), 2 tbsp hot pepper relish (0), 1 tbsp italian drsg (0), yogurt (1), apple (1)

I still didn't eat a lot today because at times I felt funny still (from my illness yesterday)... Tomorrow I'm going out to dinner with a friend for her big 30th birthday... I'm sure I'll eat more then (wish me luck!)

I'm alive (barely - my body hates me!)

Last night and today are my wake up call from my body... It's telling me it HATES me and is sick of just how much crap I've been eating for a week straight now. Last night when I went to bed I took sick and haven't been able to stomach anything more than some bread today (although I'm hungry, I know well enough to know I canNOT eat yet).

I did heed my own prior advice to Tara and went grocery shopping and bought healthy food... I got lettuce, tomato, cucumber (for all my salads) and baby carrots... and frozen stuff (broccoli, green beans, peas, baby potatoes). I bought strawberries and apples and unsweetened apple sauce. I bought new yogurt I'm excited to try (it's the Danone stuff with the clear containers... but it's new exciting flavours! I'm not one for the regular peach and blueberry and raspberries. I like strawberry yogurt and then odd yogurts... the source dessert selections or exotik selections. Today I bought a yogurt container with strawberry flavour, mango, pineapple, and kiwi flavours!). I bought my fat free cottage cheese and fruit cups. I bought cheese slices, cheese strings (no cream cheese - they didn't have any of the light ones in!!!), low fat deli chicken breast, wendy and barb's hummus and baba ganoosh. I got more Italian dressing (but bought calorie wise instead of fat free... did you know they have the same amount of calories? i didn't!), hot pepper relish, more DILL PICKLES (yay)... and tahini and chick peas to attempt to make my own hummus at a later date (although I'm sure I won't enjoy it as much as wendy and barb's).

So there you have it... that's $60 worth of groceris right there (not bad i think!).

You haven't seen me in the last few days because I hadn't been devoted to being OP and doing my exercise... thereby avoiding my blog as well. BUT, I'm back now. Although, today I can't get activity in (I also can't get food in).... I'm hoping by tomorrow I can get back at it.

Last night/yesterday was actually spent in Hamilton babysitting Simon! Michele hadn't been out with Jacob and without Simon since the fall... and last night was only their THIRD time out since he was born. Long overdue and I think they loved it. Michele has already asked if they can bring him here so the 2 of them can have a day out sight seeing in Toronto once the weather is nicer (hell YES!!! please give him to me!!). He was a perfect angel... didn't cry once and fell asleep after only a couple of minutes of rocking him (although I kept rocking him longer to enjoy more cuddle-time). Alex fed him his dinner (chicken, yams and carrots) and that was his first time feeding a baby... he did awesome (both of the boys did awesome - Simon and Alex!).

Okay, I have to go back to the kitchen. I've decided to help my week be a much better one I'm going to put together lunches and dinners today for the whole week.

Oh, did I also mention I've signed up for a cake decorating course at Michaels??? It starts next Tuesday and runs 4 weeks... I can't wait! I'll hopefully enjoy it and take the other 3 levels after this one and make Simon the best first birthday cake I can possibly make for him!!!

Happy Sunday (day of rest at my place)

Back to Update:
I managed to make all of my salad toppings for the week (you see, I mix all of the stuff that goes on the lettuce in a separate container and keep the lettuce dry in its own container and then dump the toppings on the lettuce at work... because it's okay if they're wet/soggy). The containers are either chick peasor tuna with cheese, cucumber, tomato, hot pepper relish and 1 tbsp of italian drsg. My yogurts are all ready to go and so are my apples. I've also put dill pickles in separate containers for each lunch! I grilled some balsamic chicken breasts and will cook vegetables to go with it for dinners this week. There - healthy food is here again!

I also managed to eat a bit more today... 2 pieces of ww toast with a cheese slice and a slice of deli chicken breast.... then later when i realized i could stomach it... i had cheez whiz and chicken breast in a flatout wrap.

There's my day in a nutshell... I will feel much happier again once I can get some exercise in. I'm still hoping for a loss this week (and every week... i will have weddings here before i know it!!!)

Final Answer

My final decision has been reached. I will NOT be going to WI tomorrow. I know I will be up and I decided a 'freebie' week is in order. NOW, typically when I am absent for a week I still do not manage to be DOWN (in weight) the week I go back. I now recognize this is a pattern and I vow not to let that happen. I have verbally contracted with Alex to NOT have my cheat night tomorrow night (since I won't be going to WI).

I slept in this morning and didn't get home until a little while ago... so, no activity today. My new week starts TOMORROW morning and I'll get on the treadmill!

Not much else to report... I'll go back to recording my food tomorrow! (Big brother is on now, so I must go!).

I came, I saw... I ate it ALL

Do the words "Well Judy, you did it. She's FINALLY full!" mean anything to you? That would describe my Easter... I ate and ate and ate and at some point I felt more full than I ever had... then the feeling subsided and I ate more. The good news is it was only a couple of days (unlike Christmas where it was an entire week of eating). The good news is also... I know this week I'll be up, but next week I'll be back down.

The worst part is trying to get back off of the sweets train... Once I eat as many sweets as I did this weekend it's hard for me to get back to eating healthy. I tried to do it cold turkey today... but I found my way to a million different 100 calorie packs and odds and ends today.

Tomorrow morning it's time to get back on the treadmill and tomorrow night will *hopefully* be biggest loser workout night.

Biggest Loser is on now but I just got home and I've missed the first 45min, so I will watch Big Brother instead and tape BL on the west coast channel and watch it on the treadmill bright and early in the morning!

I hope everyone had a great Easter! Aside from food... mine was wonderful. Simon's first Easter was great... he loved it! The whole family seemed to get along really well again for a change... we spent much of the day toboganning down my parents massive hill/trail in the back yard and everyone had tons of fun!!!

I'll be back tomorrow to report on my exercise AND healthy eating. I know this week's WI will be a write-off... but there's no reason why I can't start working towards next week's WI now!

The Results!

I'm back to update on my activity. I'm not doing as much as I had hoped today. I did my cardio biggest loser workout and now I'm going on the treadmill... then I'm calling it a day for activity! I have to run errands and get stuff for the easter dinner... so the treadmill will be the end of my activity.

I've eaten a flatout wrap with egg whites (2) for breakfast and for lunch i had cottage cheese (2) with tomato and cucumber (0) and an apple (1). Yes, I'm saving up my points for a big old sub for dinner and for tasting my baking!!!

Back to update - I was down 0.4lbs. I have no idea how... but I will take it! Tonight I ate dinner from the foodcourt and have eaten about a million pounds of baking stuff. I feel like I'm going to explode. I think I accomplished that "high calorie meal" Bob mentioned on last week's BL episode!!!!! The cupcakes are baked, half of them are filled. I'm going to put the icing on them once I'm in Pontypool. I think I'm done for tonight... tomorrow I will attempt my cheesecake tarts i've dreamt up! I think I'm ready for BED!!! I'll finish filling the chocolate cupcakes (with peanut butter) and tidy up for bed.

Goodnight!

Hump Day

I don't know why I'm so tired yesterday and today. I dozed off in the tanning bed on my lunch even!

There's not much to report today. Got up, went on the treadmill for 45min, went to work, came home. I didn't get my BL workouts in tonight. I started to do the cardio one, but 10 minutes into it I just about collapsed... so tired! Plus, my legs are still sore from yesterday's workout. Blah. The bright side is I have tomorrow off so tonight I can get a good night's sleep and do a good 'last chance workout' tomorrow morning. The afternoon will be spent getting groceries so that immediately following WI tomorrow night I can start baking cupcakes and a dessert tart recipe I've been thinking about trying (I've been inventing it in my head for a week!). I'm NOT going to bake until AFTER weigh in just so I can avoid any temptation to EAT any baking!!! (go me!).

Unfortunately, I gave in to many of my cravings tonight. Here's what I ate today:
Breakfast - oatmeal (2), yogurt (1)
Lunch - salad with tuna (1), cheese (1), hot pepper relish (0), yogurt (1), apple (1), 100 calorie hostess cupcakes (2)
Snack - granola bites (2)
Dinner - flatout (1), egg (2), egg whites (0), cheese (1), cottage cheese and fruit cup (2), ww cake (1), ww oatmeal raisin cookie (1)... FUDGE (4) - damn fudge. I can't believe I gave in again... I will work that off tomorrow!

Good luck tomorrow everyone! I will be posting my accomplishments throughout the day. Now, I shall change my template (since St Patrick's day is OVER) and head to bed.

Tired Tuesday

Well, as much as my only desire today seemed to be SLEEPING... I still got MOST of my exercise in. I went on the treadmill for 45min this morning then tonight did 40min of my BL cardio max. I didn't have time to do my 'power sculpting' dvd. My hunt has begun for a birthday gift for my nephew. I want something very specific and have decided I must buy it now because it will only be harder to find once spring/summer comes... I want to buy it now and return it later should I decide I want to get him something else. Wouldn't you know it? I'm so picky that it's already hard to find. Alex and I began shopping after work today (with no avail) and I will look on my lunch tomorrow. Anyway, by the time I got home and ate dinner and talked on the phone with my cousin... i only had time for the cardio max dvd. I'm on to level 2 of the dvd and it is KILLER. I'm NOT a big fan of Jillian while doing her added 10 minutes (the level 2 component).

Anyway, here's what I ate today
BF - oatmeal (2), smart bran 1/3c (0), yogurt (1)
Lunch - a tuna concoction with lettuce (0), tuna (1), cheese (1), and hot pepper relish (0). applesauce (1), apple (1), cup a soup (1)
Afternoon moment of complete weakness - FUDGE (4). I made fudge with walnuts and a peanut butter filling on the weekend (for easter). I ate some of it today. I felt very remorseful afterward and very guilty... I try not to eat stuff like that during the week. Alex finally got annoyed and basically told me to get over it, that eating 2 small pieces of fudge will not necessarily make me gain went on thursday.
Dinner - veggie patch portabella burger (2), cheese slice (1), steamed vegetables (0), cottage cheese and fruit cup (2), SF pudding (1)
Snack - hummus (1), flatout (1), lettuce (0),cheese (1)

Did anyone else get the latest What's Cooking magazine? Did you see crystal light singles (in canada) has new flavours?? including CHERRY POMEGRANATE?? I MUST get some!! I think i would LOVE IT!!!

Happy hump day... my last day of work for 5 days! Woohoo!!

One down, two to go

Back to the grind today... Luckily this is only a three day work week for me and then next week is a short week as well. April is shaping up to be a LONG month at this point (no long weekends). I feel a sick day in there somewhere!

Well, as much as I didn't want to... I got back on the exercise bandwagon today. I increased my BL workout (cardio) to 40min from 30min (I'm now on 'level 2'). It was killer. Jillian does the added 10 minutes and I wanted to jump in the tv and strangle her. I also got on the treadmill for a mere 30min this morning before work.

The highlight of my day was TANNING after work. I'm up to 2-3 times a week (side note: the lady who owns my tanning salon is Mandy Wright's mother! Remember her from high school, Tara?). Tanning is a nice way to end a Monday. It also meant not getting home until 8:45... too late to do my other BL workout. Oh well, tomorrow!

Here's what I ate today:
BF - ww toast (1), egg (2), cheese slice (1)
Lunch - flatout (1), ff italian (0), cheese (1), lettuce (0). veggie patch garlic portabella burger (2) - leftover from costco in the freezer and must eat them before i break open my new veggie burgers! hot pepper salsa (0), unsweetened applesauce (1), hostess 100 cal (2)
Snack - carrots (0), hummus (1), ww caramel cake (1)
Dinner - salad with tuna (1) and cheese (1) and balsamic spray (0), apple (1), yogurt (1), 100 calorie chocolate covered pretzels (2), WW oatmeal raisin cookie (1)

Another run for the border (after a LAZY weekend)

So... no activity this weekend. Was feeling like crap last night and today didn't have time. Oh well, I'll get back at it tomnorrow. PLUS, I'm off on Thursday, so I'll do a 'last chance workout' before WI thursday evening!

So, I went shoppin in the states today... Got some flatout bread, 100 calorie hostess cupcakes, 100 calorie packs, morningstar farm veggie burgers... AND... NEW CRYSTAL LIGHT FLAVOURS! Yep! We have a peach mango green tea (that claims to increase your metabolism), natural raspberry peach (to aid in your digestive health), natural citrus splash (with caffeine to enhance mental energy), and WHITE GRAPE (possibly my new favourite! so good!!!). I also bought a sugar free kool aid 'tropical punch' flavour!

More exciting news from the states... I got to bath and body works and they have a new scent 'enchanted orchid'... and since i'm a 'flower scent' girl, i was thrilled with it!

We actually didn't have much of a wait at the border (considering it's the sunday of march break)... AND the people were all very NICE! this is a very new experience for me at the border! maybe my luck is changing. on top of it all... they didn't make us pay duty on groceries. just my bath and body works stuff! all in all, a very good experience today.

Now, to get back to routine... and lot's of exercise for the rest of the week. I would like to lose 8lbs over the next 2 weeks... not very likely considering easter is in there... but something to strive for!

Have a great week everyone!

FRIDAY!!

WOOHOO!!! We made it! I am actually posting this from.. well, let's just say I'm NOT at home. I am where I usually am from 9am to 5pm on a Friday.

The day has not started out as I had hoped. I forgot to turn my alarm on last night before I went to bed... so, I slept in this morning and was not able to go on the treadmill. I was kind of disappointed actually. Oh well, I will make up for it this weekend. Although I don't know if I'm working Saturday evening. I was offered a shift, but because I wasn't feeling so great last night when she called I asked her if I could think about it. I would LOVE the extra money... but just feel like I have too much to get done this weekend, and Sunday is already a write-off for me with going to the states. I'll think about it this evening and call back with a decision.

Today I've eaten:
BF - weight control oatmeal (2)
Lunch - flatout (1), 1 tbsp garden cream cheese (1), 2 turkey slices (1), spinach (0), yogurt (1), apple (1)
Dinner - ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI!! We're going to Maison Du Japon in Markham

Thursday, March 13, 2008

The results are in... and favourable!

Down 2.8lbs! Not too shabby! I also have indulged in a cheat night... I've eaten more than I care to admit (but did have a full size chocolate bar!)... and after not sleeping well last night I'm already calling it a night. My cheat night for the week is over and it's back to the grind and treadmill tomorrow.

Happy Friday!

Here we go again!

Yet another Thursday is here. I have thought about going on the treadmill this morning, but after a rough night full of bad dreams (Tara and Alex and I were in a grocery store and someone opened fire and started shooting everyone... it turned into a gang war and we were trying to escape safely to the parking lot) and then difficulty falling back to sleep... I'm not feeling like going on the treadmill. BUT, it's okay because I got on the treadmill 4 days this week AND i got exercise in 5 days.

I will be back later to update my results. I am optimistic giving the week I've had... BUT you never know since I WI at the end of the day.

The good news is I took my measurements this morning for the first time since October 28 (just found them on the daily plate website!). I am officially down 12.5 inches since then. 7 of those inches are on my waist! 3 inches off my hips! 2 inches off my chest! 0.5 inches from my neck! I wonder where my measurements will be at by the fall... I will keep working hard and hopefully they will be where I want them to be! (although, I haven't put thought into it and don't know where i want them to be).

Good luck today, TARA!!! Have fun tonight!

We're getting there...

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We're over the hump and hopefully it's clear sailing to the weekend. The weekend couldn't come at a better time. I'm self admittedly really moody this week and I don't know why... You'd think all that exercise I'm doing would increase my endorphins (I'm channeling Elle Woods - "endorphins make you happy"). Oh well, what can you do?

My day was productive... I managed to run errands at lunch and got my stuff to make all of my easter cupcakes and fudge (going to make chocolate butterscotch fudge with tiny m&m's in it! I think the kids will love the rainbow of colours!). In terms of activity... pretty good today! I got on the treadmill for 45min again this morning, then tonight did 1hr of Biggest Loser workout (30min cardio max and 30min power sculpt). Tara - I really think you should buy these next time you're at Costco! Just because I LOVE biggest loser so much and love bob harper... I think that's one of the main reasons I'm totally loving the workout DVD's! It adds a nice variety to the exercise regime... it makes you SWEAT... you don't need a lot of room... I just love it!!! I never thought I would find a workout DVD I could say that about!

Okay, here's what I ate today:
BF - weight control oatmeal (2), yogurt (1)
Lunch - spinach salad with turkey (1), cheese (1), ff italian (0). apple (1). cottage cheese and fruit cup (2). cup of soup (1). light hot chocolate (1)
Snack after work, before cardio workout - flatout bread (1), garden cream cheese (1), turkey (1)
Dinner - spinach, steamed with garlic (0), spicy peas with 1/2c chick peas (2), salmon fillet (3), motts strawberry kiwi unsweetened fruit cup (1), sf chocolate pudding (1)
Snack - allegro cheese (1) melted on ww bread (1)

Last night on BL Bob mentioned the contestants have a cheat night after they weigh in and this helps their metabolism (and their mood - to have this to look forward to). I keep wondering... how much do you think they cheat? do you think it's a free for all? do you think cheating is like having some little 100 calorie something or other? I think they should have shared with us exactly what constitutes cheating!!

Drama, drama, drama!

Okay, so I missed the beginning of BL and only saw the end... what DRAMA at WI!!! Jillian can really speak her mind when she wants to (I assume she was speaking her mind - half of what she was saying got bleeped out!!). I am taping it on the west coast channel so I can see the whole show tomorrow or this weekend or something... what was up with the show ending before elimination?? Talk about keeping us on our toes!!

Now, why did I miss the beginning? Well, I got wind that Michele and Simon headed to Pontypool for the rest of the week as Jacob is in New Orleans until Saturday. So, Alex and I decided after work we'd head to Pontypool for dinner and see Simon for a couple of hours. It made my day. The boy is so cute and always gives the biggest smiles!! He didn't remember his Uncle Alex, but quickly warmed up to him. He came to me right away and alex was sitting on the couch beside us... alex went to lean in and say hello to him and simon hauled off and slapped him in the face! Michele apologized to alex and informed him they've decided to raise Simon as a racist, so that is why he hit him!! haha!!! Simon thought it was funny too and flashed alex a big smile and all was forgiven. I love that baby to death, I swear!!

Okay, on to the rest of my day:

Activity - treadmill 45min this morning. No BL workouts as I didn't get home until 9:30... too late to do any workouts then! Tomorrow night I will try to do more.

What I ate today:
BF
- weight control oatmeal (2), yogurt (1)
Lunch - spinach salad with tuna (1), allegro cheese (1), ff italian 2 tbsp (0). unsweetened apple kiwi and strawberry sauce (1), apple (1), carrots (0), hummus (1)
Dinner - some chicken/rice/green bean/carrot/chicken broth concoction my mom makes and has since we were kids... she calls it chicken chow mein, but it does not resemble Chinese food whatsoever. My best guess is (6), vegetable lasagna (4), cheese (2), 3 crackers - (?1)

I managed to say 'no' to having a bun, as I figured I was getting enough carbs in the rice and lasagna noodles in dinner. AND I managed to turn down any dessert whatsoever and opted to play with Simon on the floor while everyone else had ice cream and cookies!

I have worked so hard this week... If I don't see results that are worth it on the scale on Thursday... next week may be a disaster because i'll be so discouraged!

I loved, LOVED on BL how Bob said they give contestants ONE cheat night... I'm glad to hear it helps with metabolism! I wonder if 3 cheat nights helps metabolism just THAT much more even!! Maybe I will start to treat myself to one regular chocolate bar with my subs on Thursdays. Hmmm.

Happy Hump day everyone!!!

Dare to Dream...

Doesn't this look nice? I'm feeling optimistic though... we are into the home stretch of winter! Before we know it we can be back outside enjoying patio season. On the bright side though... it may still be winter, but that only means I have that much more time still to work towards goal weight! I have to kick it into a higher gear if I want to reach my goal by summer... when I was crunching numbers the other day it was scary how much weight I'll have to lose. At this rate I have to lose almost 50lbs in 5 months... damn actually, that is close to impossible. Well, I'll keep plugging away regardless. I mean, the closer I can get to my goal, the better.

Today I did my 30min cardio max (BL workout), then went on the treadmill for 30min (wanted to go on for 45min but was too damn tired after the BL workout!). I went to work then came home and at 8:30pm still did my 30min power sculpting (another BL workout). I'm getting there... Tomorrow is treadmill in the morning (crossing my fingers I can do it - with the time change it will be hard!). After work Alex and I *MAY* go to pontypool, as i've heard rumour that michele and simon will be home for the rest of the week while jacob is away on business... so, since alex hasn't even seen our gorgeous nephew since christmas... we thought we could scoot out for a couple of hours after work... which will mean no workouts after work, but it's okay - I will do them Wednesday night.

Here's what I've eaten today:
Breakfast - weight control oatmeal (2), yogurt (1)
Lunch - flatout wrap (1), hummus (1), 2 FF cheese slices (1), 2 turkey slices (1), strawberry and kiwi unsweetened applesauce (1), granola bites (2), all bran bites (1)
Snack - 100 cal cheese nips (2), baby dills (0)
Dinner - spinach salad with tuna (1), allegro cheese (1), 2 tbsp ff italian (0), granny smith apple (1), chocolate SF pudding - which is totally hitting the spot for any chocolate cravings the last few days (1)

So, I didn't eat enough today... Mondays are hard though to try to either get enough points in before I leave for work (when today i spent most of my time working out!), or to try to pack enough damn food to meet my points... I'll make more of an effort next week though.

Happy Tuesday. Take note of my ticker - SPRING is getting CLOSER!!!

Got My Groove Back!

Well, today was somewhat productive. If you overlook the fact that I don't yet have my dishes done, my laundry isn't put away, and my floors weren't washed... oh, and I have yet to wrap up my parent groups (I have to do my follow up calls), put my latest photos of Simon onto the computer, send in a million digital photos to be printed... If you overlook all of that and focus on what I DID do today - TWO 30min biggest loser workouts (cardio max AND power sculpting), 45min on the treadmill (with the speed increased yet again!), plus walked around the mall for an hour... I would say my activity level is one to be proud of today. I also managed to avoid eating as much as I ate yesterday.

Light bulb moment - the more active I stay, the less appetite I have and less desire to do mindless snacking.

Here's what I've eaten today:
BF - weight control oatmeal (2), yogurt (1)
Snack - cheese string (1)
Lunch - sundried tomato flatout wrap (1), 1 tbsp garden cream cheese (1), spinach (0), tomato (0), 2 turkey slices (1), 1 tbsp ff italian (0), SF chocolate pudding (1)
Dinner - Bourbon Street Grill from the mall, consisting of (and points are all estimates) bourbon chicken (4 oz? 7pts with sauce?), 1/2 c mashed potatoes (6?), grilled vegetables, no sauce (0)
Snack - nil. We ate dinner early tonight and I thought I'd be hungry... but I did a biggest loser workout AND 45min on the treadmill... so no time for snacking, because now it's too late to eat (unless I want to dream that someone is trying to kill me. ummm let me think - NO thank you!)

Happy March Break to all. I may be the only sucker at work working the entire week as it turns out... It appears my supervisor allowed 4 out of 7 of us off... this could be a LONG week!! I think I will go make hummus now and then try to call it a night and adjust to the time shift.

Photos!

Simon on Family Day:
Mom's dog, Bella... with Chicklet (under the covers as usual)
My Dessert platter at Christmas (just because today it looks good to me - cake truffles, chocolate and peanut butter fudge, and gingerbread men)
Bella and Chicklet again;

The rest of the photos are the view of the snow storm from my balcony on Mar 8/08. The photos were taken between noon and 2pm, although you wouldn't know it by how dark it looks in the photos!

Surviving Yet ANOTHER Snow Storm

Okay, blogger is having serious errors today and any time I try to post photos it doesn't work. Even earlier it took me forever to get my new template in place.

Out of frustration, photos may come later... but for now, I'll just summarize my day!

I managed to do one biggest loser workout (the 'cardio max' one, 30min). The plan was to also do the body sculpting workout and an hour or so on the treadmill. I haven't done anything more than the cardio max. hey, 30min of cardio isn't bad... it could be worse. I got cleaning done today... and had a nap... and lost total motivation to exercise. maybe tomorrow?

Here's what I've eaten:
BF - oatmeal (2), 1/2 tbsp light JIF (1)
Snack - ww bread with a cheese slice (2), cheese string (1)
Lunch - spinach salad with egg (2), cheese (1), 3 tbsp ff italian drsg (0), 100 calorie cheese nips (2), SF pudding (1)
Snack - 100 calorie shortbread cookies (2)
Dinner - ww bagel (2), veggie burger (2), fries (4), cottage cheese and fruit cup (2), 100 calorie pb cookies (2)
Snack - SF pudding (1), 100 calorie shortbread (2)

Wow, I did eat a lot today. At least I'm keeping count of what I'm eating... feels good to accomplish that much on a weekend again!

Drive safe everyone! (or better yet, don't drive at all!)

Kicking the weekend off with a BANG!

This is the view from my balcony 10 minutes ago. The weekend is starting off with yet another bang of a snow storm... my CPR classes are no longer and I have the weekend to stay house-bound! Ideally I'd like to workout 5hrs a day and be a biggest loser this week... however, I am in touch with reality enough to know that won't happen!!

I did get on the treadmill for 45min this morning... AND I had to increase my speed (finally)... I think the biggest loser workouts are helping in my fitness and my jogging wasn't much of a challenge anymore (unless i'm really tired, then just moving is a challenge).

I've been good with what I ate today... in anticipation that alex and i are going out for sushi tonight. THAT is something that is up in the air at this point. city streets are really slippery and we're waiting for traffic to die down before we know for sure if he's even leaving his house and venturing over here!

It Appears I am a Bottomless Pit!!!

I really should stop buying 100 calorie packs.

Let's recap the day, shall we? I called in sick to work. I had gastro issues... I think in part because I was anxious about the drive in. Anything I ate... didn't sit well. By the afternoon I felt better (thank you, pepto!).

Unfortunately I still had an appetite today and feel like I did nothing but snack on things. I did, however, manage to pull off TWO Biggest Loser workouts (30min of the cardio max and 30min of the power sculpting) and did go on the treadmill, but only for 30min. You'd think I should feel optimistic for tomorrow... but I don't. And you won't feel optimistic for me either once you see what I ate today (if I can even remember).

What I ingested:
BF - smart bran cereal (0) mixed with special k (1), skim milk (1)
Snacks - 5 100 calorie packs (10) - yes, you read that correct. FIVE 100 calorie snacks. This includes cadbury thins, doritos, ritz crackers, cheese nips... you name it, I ate it!, 2 granola bites packages (4), cheese string (1)
Lunch - ww bread with cheese slice (2), cottage cheese and fruit cup (2)
Dinner - flatout bread with cream cheese (2), 4 egg whites (1), spinach (0), motts unsweetened strawberry and kiwi applesauce (1)

I'm so wise to be eating all of this day freaking day before weigh in! I don't know what goes through my mind!!!

Bye Bye Bernie :(

I'm so happy to have Tuesday evenings off!! I stopped in at Alex's office today and then headed home for some dinner and Biggest Loser/Big Brother. I felt so bad for Bernie leaving... what a great guy he is. I don't know who my favourite is at this point, but I'm always partial to the blue team because of my love for Bob.

I slept in and didn't get on the treadmill this morning (big surprise), but this evening I forced myself to do the Biggest Loser workout. It was actually easier tonight than the last time... but still a tough one!

The snow has started coming in hard here... and I'm going to call it a day and hope I can get on the treadmill tomorrow morning. What is wrong with me lately? I need serious motivation again!! HELLOOOO... are THREE weddings in the fall not motivation enough? A bridesmaid in 2 of the weddings... giving a speech at the 3rd wedding (so, still having to stand up and have attention drawn on me in front of everyone)... I need to kick it in to high gear... And I need to stop being all TALK about it and get off my butt and just make it happen!!! I'm desperate to be at my goal weight for the fall (ideally for August when dress alterations will happen)... but you wouldn't know it from my lack of effort.

Okay, here's what I ate today:
BF - 2pc ww toast (1), 1 tbsp light jif PB (2), 2/3c smart bran (1), 1/2c milk (1)
Snack - baby dill pickles (0) - these are my favourite snack lately and NO POINTS!
Lunch - salad (0) with tuna (1), cheese (2), ff italian (0), yogurt (1), apple (1), 100cal pack (2)
PM Snack - cup of soup (1)
Dinner - ww bagel (2), spicy black bean burger (2), 1tbsp salsa cream cheese (1), cottage cheese and fruit cup (2), SF pudding (1), all bran bites (1)

I hope I can be good tomorrow. Scratch that. I KNOW I will be good tomorrow. I'm going out to dinner with a girlfriend after work and we're going to see 27 dresses. YES, I'm finally going to see that movie... given my circumstances lately everyone ALWAYS asks me if I've seen that movie!!! So, weather permitting (which sounds like a crappy drive tomorrow) - I will finally be seeing it! ALSO tomorrow I am going to start TANNING!!! WOOHOO!!! I will get in a solid 6 months before the weddings begin... and hopefully I will have some colour! If not, then it'll be nice just to have that relaxation. I told Alex I'm going to be as dark as him come fall... he says it won't happen unless I bake in an Indian mother's oven at 350F for 9 months... oh well, I'll be half as baked as him then :)

Drive safe... be careful out there tomorrow!! Apparently my dad even brought his laptop home tonight in anticipation he won't go in to the office tomorrow... my dad ALWAYS goes to work... so, if he thinks he won't be going in - that is NOT looking promising for me!!!

Fat and Fatter

Well, I made my bed full of high calorie and high fat food on the weekend, and now I must lie in it. I ate Chinese food Saturday AND Sunday... now it's time to recover. My plan had been treadmill yesterday and today. Well, I'm 0 for 2 now. Yesterday I ended up agreeing to go work at sickkids until midnight... so, no treadmill (yeah, when I came home at midnight I was too tired for the treadmill, go figure!). Today (my fault, I forgot) - we had no water in the building. I found the letter at 8:30am that the water was being turned off at 9am. That meant I had to hop in the shower then so I could at least be clean to go to work... so, no treadmill after that.

Geez, this week is starting off well.

Today I ate:
BF - oatmeal (2), 1 tbsp light jif (2), 1/3c smart bran (0)
Lunch - lean cuisine grilled panini chicken, spinach and mushroom (5), cottage cheese and fruit cup (2)
Snack - carrots (0), Wendy and barb's baba ganoosh (1)
Dinner - salad (0) with tuna (1), cheese (1), 2 tbsp ff Italian (0). pear (1), yogurt (1)
Snack - tea with milk and splenda (0)

*I miscalculated my points for today. I think I thought I had thrown in more stuff for dinner and when I got to work I had forgotten... but by the time I get home at :30pm it's too late to eat anything else (unless I want to have dreams that somebody is trying to kill me).

Tomorrow's resolution is to get on the treadmill and/or do the biggest loser workout. I can salvage this week... I hope.

Your Typical Friday

More snow. A messy and LONG drive home... Forget being a typical Friday. This just seems to be a typical ANY day of the week this winter! My 30min drive home was an hour tonight.

Luckily, Alex decided not to just go home in this weather... he has still come to spend out date night together. Yay!

Our plan had been food court for dinner and home to watch 'Good Luck Chuck'. Given the weather, I thought we'd stay in and just eat something here... but he suggested we order Swiss Chalet. That is why I'm with him - he's brilliant! We had dinner and watched the movie (movie was okay... don't know if I'll ever watch it again even though i OWN it!).

Here's what I ate today:
BF - 2 egg whites (0), ww bagel (2)
Lunch - salad with cheese (1), turkey bacon (1), and hellmans spritzer (0). apple (1), yogurt (1)
Snack - cheese (1)
Dinner - quarter chicken withOUT the wing and skin (5), baked potato (3), sour cream (1), multi grain roll (2), Swiss chalet dipping sauce (1), 4 perogies (4)

Tomorrow I'm heading to Pontypool for Mom and Michele's birthdays. I made a pineapple angel food cake and put lemon pie filling in it then iced it with a low fat whipped icing. Fairly low calorie (considering the alternatives) and low fat. The only challenge will be that we are ordering Pontypool Chinese Food for dinner... oh boy. I don't know what I will do!!!!

Happy weekend!
