I’m still alive!

Hello dear bloggies. I’m so sorry I’ve been absent all week.  I have thought about blogging each day!

Proof I’m still alive… this is me from the other day.. with a green drink! (I have bangs, but some days at work I end up pinning them back because they fall in my eyes when I’m trying to work… and no, I don’t wear make up to work.  Eye make up irritates my eyes, and I stare at a computer all day).

In case you didn’t know… we are under a HUGE heat wave in Toronto.  In case you also didn’t know… not only do I live in Toronto, I also live on the 15th floor of a high rise without A/C.  My little window unit broke a couple of years ago and I just don’t have the funds to replace it.  Also, it barely cooled off one room. I unfortunately am not allowed to have an a/c in my bedroom window.  I wasn’t sleeping for several night and have now resorted to taking gravol to knock me out and be forced to sleep.

That says it’s 28C at 9pm, but feels like 39C.  My bedroom is 45C.

This too shall pass.

On a more positive note… I am still going to the gym and still counting points!

Today was weigh in day (wow, has it been a week since I posted??).  I STAYED THE SAME!  What’s up with that?  Maybe heat wave bloat?  I don’t know, but I will keep plugging away!

No pictures tonight. I apologize.

Good luck to all in keeping cool during the heat wave.  My understanding is the entire country is feeling it.  I also heard on the radio though, that Toronto is the hottest spot in the country this week.  With the humidity each day has felt over 40C.  Yikes.

I miss this…

Okay… maybe I’m not THAT hot.  Maybe I just miss this…

(a beautiful fall day)

And perhaps I miss this…

Christmas morning… and my (then) 2 1/2 year old nephew at my parents’ house.

The countdown is on…  2 weeks tomorrow Alex and I pack our bags and make the 9 hour drive to Chicago to see my sister, brother in law… and this CUTIE (aka the love of my life)

I don’t have my own kids… but I really can’t imagine loving one more than I do my nephew.  I love him more than life and would die for him.

Okay, enough mush.  I’ll be back to posting food porn this weekend!!

Happy July!

Weigh in & Sushi

Yesterday was weigh in day.

I was UP 0.1lb (not a huge change).  I’m not stressing. I’m eating well, I’m being honest with my tracking (AND I’m tracking) AND I’m going to the GYM now!  The weight will come off…

Yesterday we celebrated Canada day by enjoying some SUSHI!

I will let the pictures speak for themselves…

(not all of this food was mine… this was all of our food together.  The ice cream you are about to see was all mine).

Later in the evening I was hungry but didn’t know what I want… so I made a couple of pita pizzas. Just 2 WW pitas, pizza sauce, goat cheese, turkey pepperoni and skim mozzarella

Today I managed to get to the gym and try BodyFlow.  It was TOUGH! It’s a combo of yoga, pilates and Thai Chi.  TOUGH!  I’ll be trying it again for sure (maybe not this weekend though).

Breakfast was just some berries (no picture).  Lunch was a foot long turkey subway.  Dinner was a veggie mexican salad

We went for a 1hr walk with Chicklet and then stopped at Jamba Juice for a healthy treat.  Today’s total points is 30 (it’s okay though… I have flex points and AP’s from today!).

Today I also enjoyed a visit with the adorable Cambria.  She is my good friend’s baby. She was born at 26 weeks gestation and has come a LONG way (she’s going to be 2 months old on Monday).  She has to have heart surgery on Monday for her heart murmur.  Any positive thoughts for her are very welcome :)

She smiles…

Happy Canada Day!!

(source)

Hey, I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader....
I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dogsled....
and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada,
although I'm certain they're really really nice.

I have a Prime Minister, not a president.
I speak English and French, not American.
And I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'.

I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack.
I believe in peace keeping, not policing,
diversity, not assimilation,
and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.
A toque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch,
and it is pronounced 'zed' not 'zee', 'zed' !!!!

Canada is the second largest landmass!
The first nation of hockey!
and the best part of North America

My name is Jen!!
And I am Canadian!!!

Happy Birthday to what I consider to be the absolute best country in the world!

Also, happy HST day to my fellow Ontario residents and British Columbia residents as well
