Switching Gears…

Well, dear friends.  Something tragic has happened to my beloved iPhone

DSCN6118 DSCN6262

On Saturday morning (due to my own stupidity) I dropped my iPhone in the toilet. Who does that?  (Luckily the toilet was clean!).

I pulled it out immediately but the backlight on the screen had already disappeared. I wiped off the phone, turned it off and turned it back on. Still a dim screen.  Immediately I came online and researched.  I found out I should NOT turn the phone on and off and should dry it out (shake it, use a blow dryer on low on it) and then set it in a bag of rice for a couple of days.  I had no rice. I ran to the store and grabbed rice. I came home half an hour later and hoped the phone would have fixed itself. Turned it on. Got a white screen. I put the phone in the bag of rice for 48hrs. I checked it today. Still the white screen.

*tear*

The phone is still working… I  an hear it doing things. I can even touch the screen and it will click on my apps, etc.  I just can’t SEE anything because it’s a white screen!

Water damage voids any warranty on it.

Anyone have any suggestions or experiences with this? I am desperate! My life has (sadly) ceased without my iPhone!

I can put my SIM card in my stupid old motorola phone for now so at least I have a phone for drive.  I hate it though.

You should call apple and return to them, they will fix it or send a new one, but it will cost you something. However, it won't be the cost of a new phone. I dropped my iTouch in a glass of soda and they sent me a new one for $112. You should def call them and figure out your options though.

Ugh... that sucks. I heard the rice trick too. Hope you can get it figured out and they'll repair it for a fair price.
