Hump Day

First... here's my cake from last night. It's the Wilton course 1 finale cake. It's far from the perfection I had hoped... but it doesn't look bad in photos (in person you can see the flaws!). The cake is being served at work tomorrow for a co worker's birthday. Last week's cake got divided up between the Mathews and Sibley households... I did have 1 piece myself though!




Today I was exhausted in the morning... I got up, ate breakfast... and couldn't get myself off the couch... especially when I knew I was coming straight home after work and could do exercise then. So, THEN is when i did... biggest loser workout!

Today's menu:
Breakfast - hard boiled egg (2), oatmeal (2)
Lunch - salad with tuna (1), cheese (1), 2 tbsp ff Italian (0), veggies (0), hot peppers..mmm (0), couple of cups of chopped pineapple, strawberries, black grapes, blackberries (2), yogurt (1)
PM snack - salt and vinegar cukes (0) - maybe sea salt wasn't a great idea the day before WI? I don't know! oh well!!! I love me some S&V Cucumber right now!
Dinner - ODD DINNER TONIGHT.. snacking really... 2 ww tortillas (2), 2 ff cheese slices (1), salsa (0), 4 pieces ww bread (2), jam (2), ff cottage cheese and fruit cup (2)

Good luck tomorrow to everyone!!! I am off to do the dishes (aahhhh how I dream of having a dishwasher one day... and washer/dryer... and back yard... and NO elevator...)

Short, sweet and to the point


I'm exhausted... I have to go to bed!

I wanted to just post and inform the general public that I DID do my biggest loser cardio workout this morning!

What I ate?
BF - egg (2), oatmeal (2)
Lunch - bagel (2), turkey bacon (3), cheese slice (1), apple (1), yogurt (1)
Snack - salt and vinegar cucumbers (0)
Dinner - salad with tuna and cheese (2), fruit (2), carrots and hummus (1)
Snack after cake class - crackers (1), hummus (0), icing (2)

Basically my food was the same as yesterday really... since I packed lunch and dinner again last night.

I'm loving my salt and vinegar cucumber... I just add sea salt to the cucumbers soaking in vinegar.

I'll post photos of my Course 1 finale cake tomorrow!

Feelin' Groovy

So, it's Monday... everyone but ONE poor girl called in SICK to work today... so, instead of going in at 1pm I went in at 11am to help her out. I did still manage to get on the treadmill... but no biggest loser workout.

I had already packed my dinner for tonight at work but quickly put a healthy lunch together as well... here's how it all looked once it was said and done:


Here's what today looked like (food wise):
BF - oatmeal (2), yogurt (1)
Lunch - bagel (2), turkey bacon (1), ff cheese slice (1), carrots (0), grape tomatoes (0), hummus (1), salt and vinegar cucumbers (0)
PM Snack - apple (1)
Dinner - salad (0) with turkey breast (1), allegro cheese (1), hot peppers (0), red and orange peppers (0), ff italian 2 tbsp (0), pineapple (1), strawberries (1), a few grapes and blackberries (1), yogurt (1), mott's fruisations unsweetened kiwi and strawberry applesauce (1)
Snack - nativa organic crackers (1), cream cheese (1)

Tomorrow is work then cake class... hopefully I still go on the treadmill in the morning (or do BL workout)!!

Sunday of no exercise!


Okay... my intentions for today were good. Eat well, clean, laundry, bake and ice my cake for Tuesday's class, Biggest Loser workout, treadmill, out for the afternoon with Alex and Chicklet to the park... now that I think about it - I was definitely far too ambitious!

I actually did get everything done MINUS the biggest loser workout and treadmill. I literally spent about 4 hours on cleaning/cooking/baking... plus an hour walk with Alex and Chicklet... and about an hour of lounging on the couch just watching TV with Alex (even then I got up intermittently to do things... to which I heard "You don't know how to just relax, do you?". He's right... I can't relax when there is stuff to get done!

I have been proactive and made my lunch for tomorrow already (or dinner rather, since I work late tomorrow). One less thing to do in the morning so I may devote time to exercise!

Finally, time to get BACK to posting my intake!

Lunch - 12" veggie subway (10)

Well, it's a start!

I have done all of my grocery shopping... hellooooo produce! Between regular groceries and costco I have spent close to $200 on groceries in the past 2 days. This is likely in large part because I hadn't shopped for food in about 3 weeks!

I should have taken a photo of my lunch too... a flatout wrap with 2 slices of turkey bacon, swiss cheese slices, lettuce, tomato, dill pickles, hot peppers and italian dressing... it was soooo good! like my own sub right here at home! (i bought the banana peppers today - great investment!)

as for activity? none... besides pushing a shopping cart for over an hour and cleaning/cooking/putting groceries away for a few hours...

tomorrow I will get back at activity!! today was my lazy day i suppose!

The results are not good

I was up 1lb. Oh well... it could have been worse. I am glad to have my plan to use this weekend to get back on TRACK though!!

I've been Summoned


So, I was summoned to jury panel. I spent my day today at the 361 University courthouse. Care to know the excitement of my day? Sitting and reading my book. I literally sat in a room... in a chair... with about 75 people all around me... and I read my book. There was no action today. I didn't get called. I didn't get sent home. I ready my book ("Babyproof" - not bad so far! I like chick-lit though). Guess where I'll be the next 2 days as well - the same freaking place. It's exhausting sitting in a room with poor air circulation for 8 long... LONG hours. There's no TV... you can't leave (except for 1hr at lunch or to use the restroom for a "5min break").... it's a long freaking day. I get paid from work... but I don't even know if I get my full pay. That would totally suck if I don't. I should look into that!

My activity was NIL today. I had to leave here at 7am... which meant no time for the treadmill. Tonight I was exhausted AND I have cramps... I never get cramps... who knows what is up!

here's what I ate today though:
BF - fibre 1 bar (2), yogurt (1)
Lunch - salad (0) with chicken (3) and balsamic (2), 100 calorie pack x2 (4)
Snack - edamame (0), 100 calorie pack (2) - note my stuff today was things that were easy to pack and disposable
Dinner - tuna with FF miracle whip (2)... 100 calorie packs x3 (6)

what is up with me and 100 calorie packs today?

I'm going to be up this week... I'm bloated, I'm crampy... i ate and drank too much on the weekend (but it was worth it!). I have chosen to have this weekend off (no sickkids) and stay in town to concentrate on getting myself back on track. It's do or die time. I don't even know if I'll go to WI tomorrow... depending on when I leave downtown and how I'm feeling when i finally get home. It's going to be another VERY LONG DAY!

Monday I did my BL workout and treadmill... yesterday i did treadmill... but that is the extent of this week's activity. Oh well!!! One day at a time... no guilt... move on!

Absentee Blogger

I feel like my blogging has been limited as of late. I was definitely off track for the weekend... but back on track yesterday and today. I'm still working on finding my motivation again... but it will come. It has to. This weekend I'm staying in town and will finally get back on track (because me and temptations are finding each other far too easily the past couple of months on weekends! This weekend I'll have to focus!). Maybe I won't end up working this weekend either... that would be nice!!

Happy Saturday!!!


It's Saturday and the sun is shining. What more could we ask for? I got wind that Michele and Simon are making an appearance in Pontypool this weekend... so guess where I'm headed! They've actually been there since Thursday... and will likely be there until Thursday because Jacob is in Chicago on business.

So, I'm in the process of baking my cake for Tuesday's class (I'll ice it Sunday night)... then doing my BL workout (cardio max) and then showering and heading out!!! I think Alex may join us later on as well... then tomorrow it's off to Bowmanville to help the bride (or rather, one of the brides!!) do her invitations and try on her dress and stuff!!

Last night Alex and I felt the need to go out and indulge a little... we went to Shoeless Joe's and had a flatbread appetizer and I had a grilled veggie naan wrap with side salad... and TWO coors lights. We've both just been so busy lately we barely seem to have time for each other... so we enjoyed some beer together.

Today I've had a fibre 1 bar for breakfast and a cheesestring. I've also licked the spatula of buttercream icing... but i honestly don't think I've had more than 2 tbsp in total of the stuff. Who knows what I'll eat the rest of the day... but I will behave!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR TARA!!!

I am slow at this today because my computer at work wouldn't let me upload a photo! damn the computers. damn all the computers!

anyway...

For those who don't know it already... Tara is the most amazing friend you could ever ask for. She is so NOT judgmental and is always there for you to cheer you up... bring you back to reality... encourage you... help you see on the bright side of things... and is an all around great person who anyone and everyone can count on. She means the world to me... and I happen to know she means the world to my family - including my aunt and her family and my uncle... and my grandparents! I just can't wait to share in her 30th special year with her. I know it will be the best one ever... because that's the least she deserves!!

On the WI front. i was up 0.4lbs. Time to get back at it hardcore again. Weddings aren't far away!!!
