Resolution: a resolve or determination: to make a firm resolution to do something.
Goal: the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end.
I was thinking about my resolutions for this upcoming year and realized maybe some things I was thinking about were more like goals. So, being the planner I am - I have categorized my year between goals and resolutions.
2008 Goals: 1. reach my goal weight 2.Get my debt paid off totally
Resolution: get back into using the treadmill at least 4 days a week (if not feeling well, at least walk for a half an hour on it)
Today's menu:
Breakfast - nordica ff cottage cheese with orchard fruit (2)
Snack - 4 tangerines (2)
Planned for later? Unsure. I know it won't involve alcohol at this point - I'll just hope it can involve not EATING TOO BLOODY MUCH!!
Regardless, tomorrow is the first day of my journey to goal weight. I'm stoked!
PS - I could be looking at a potential 10lb gain from the holidays. YIKES! But I'll take my official WI results from my WI at WW on Thursday... Then we'll assess the real damage done. I'm not even stressed. I know I can recover this year (unlike last year)!

New year, new look
Well, it's time to update the blog and move forward from all of my carelessness over christmas. it's late and i have to work first thing in the morning... so this is quick and I will update more tomorrow likely while I'm "working"!

I hope nobody is looking for Pontypool...
... because i ATE it
seriously. i have eaten everything in sight for 5 days (saturday to today, with the exception of Sunday). if there's a cookie/square/pie within a 10 mile radius... chances are, I have eaten it. i constantly feel full and ill... and then the feeling fades and i look for more. i have a sugar addiction i think. man, i love being here but it will be good to get back to routine and food structure, be past the holidays, and just get to GOAL. i think i'm strangely okay with any weight i've gained because i know i will get that focus back and get back on track once the holidays are over. for me, that is tomorrow. i'll be back at my place tomorrow and back to eating healthy. i'll be back at mom and dad's for saturday/sunday - but i'll be back to my healthy routine and will resist treats.
needless to say, i did NOT go to WW tonight and have NOT weighed in. i'll start weighing myself saturday morning again... and gear up for a week from tonight when i'm back to WW (with the rest of the free world who decides to make their new years resolution losing weight... they are the reason our meetings are standing room only for january... until 99% of them quit at the end of the month).
new years resolutions anyone? i think mine will be to get back at the treadmill... whether it be walking or jogging... i'd like to be on it at least 5 days a week for at least 30min. i think that's reasonable.
AND once i'm back to my high speed internet tomorrow i look forward to updating my blog template and moving on from christmas... onto a fresh look and re-focus and gearing up for more menu challenge!!!
happy friday to all who have to work!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
It's Christmas Eve... I am at work. T - 2hrs and 40min to go!
I haven't eaten a single thing today... partially because I'm so excited I have butterflies in my stomach... and partially because I'm saving my calories/points for later (yes, I know this is very NOT smart).
I just wanted to take a moment to thank a couple of people. The ONLY TWO people who read my blog.
Tara - You've been a great friend my entire life. This year is no different. Your support and humour has really helped me with this weight loss journey... I don't know where I'd be without you!! Cheers to the upcoming year and the buttocks we will KICK!!
Alex - You don't want me getting sentimental and making YOU cry, I know. You mean the world to me. You've known me at my heaviest and still made me feel like the prettiest girl you know... Thank you for giving me self esteem I had never had, and for making me realize you will love me no matter what and this weight loss journey is for ME this time, not for other people to think I'm thin and pretty. I can't wait for my GOAL WEIGHT SHOPPING SPREE that I WILL get this year (you promised me $5000 to spend, RIGHT? haha!).
Merry Christmas to everyone... may the holidays bring you nothing but peace and joy... and may you find yourselves happier than you ever dreamed of in 2008!
Love, Jen (who will hopefully continue to SHRINK over the holidays).
I will likely not be around tomorrow, but Boxing day I will probably be back!

Oh boy. I'm losing this battle!
Okay, so yesterday was a DISASTER. Thank god i'm not weighing in officially until the first week of January. I did well for breakfast, just an apple and cheesestring... i didn't really eat lunch.. then when I was helping put together another dessert tray i had a rocky road square... then i found the snacks mid-afternoon... i had a few tostitos (not even 10) and some of the taco dip... i had some shrimp (which isn't so bad) with the cocktail sauce... at dinner i had a kaiser bun (whole wheat) with some turkey and mustard and cheese (NOT light cheese), a few tbsp of potato salad (NOT light!), some raw veggies, and 6 blue menu chicken meatballs... then i was stuffed. THEN later on the desserts came out... i went nutso. I had 2 cakeballs (they're actually only about 1pt ea from what i can figure... maybe 3pts for 2 of them), i had 2 pieces of fudge... and oh, about 10,000 different kinds of squares (in all honesty, i don't remember how many i had... probably about 5 at least).
the day was shot. this morning i stepped on the scale and was 3lbs heavier than yesterday morning. crap.
you would think that would kick me in the butt for today? nope. it's sooooo hard to get back to eating healthy when there's a house full of sweets and after eating so many last night, that's all you want again today. (and unlike Tara, I have NOT run!). today i had an apple and cheesestring for breakfast... then a cake ball, then a square... then i had lunch (just a cup a soup) then a 100cal pack, then 2 ww chocolates... then low fat triscuits (about 10 at the most) AND regular cheese... not low fat. i also had about 3 squares of desserts (date square, peanut butter square, and some caramel square thing). oh boy.
shortly we're heading for swiss chalet for dinner... i think i better try to be good.
I will heed tara's advice in her comment and not deprive myself... i'll remember how much weight i gained last year over christmas and try not to do the same... but not kill myself over it... i'll work hard in the new year when my resolution will be to get BACK to jogging at LEAST 4 mornings a week! there we go - my resolution is in print.
i will try to post tomorrow... but definitely won't get a chance on christmas day...
merry christmas to all!!!!

I will survive
Today is the big challenge. the sibley family christmas. so much food, so much munchies... and i'll likely be hungry. i guess my mom isn't counting points for the holidays... the cheese and cracker platter i put together last night has no light crackers and NO light cheese. i made taco dip yesterday with light cream cheese, fat free miracle whip, fat free sour cream, salsa, and light shredded cheese... my mom didn't get baked tostitos. this day could be a challenge. we're having meat and buns and cheese for dinner... i can let myself have a bun with the turkey mom cooked... and mustard... no cheese. one cousin is bringing a vegetable platter... i can have some of those without dip i guess. i dunno - we'll see how well i do today!!!
yesterday i did have a couple of cake balls (but they're made the ww cake way, the only points really are the milk chocolate on the outside) - my guess is (3pts for 2) AND i had some fudge when i was making it (4?). i didn't even have time for lunch, i was doing so much cleaning and cooking here. for dinner i had a salad with chicken breast (2), light feta (2), and balsamic spray (0) along with a tomato cup a soup (2). add this to my ww bagel and cheese (4) in the morning and there's my day. i actually COULD have eaten more. that's okay, i'm sure i'll inevitabley make up for it today.
i'll be back to update how today went... probably not until tomorrow from my apartment (where there's high speed!).
happy saturday everyone... enjoy all of your christmas parties! behave!!!!

And so it begins... HOORAY!
I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
I think my sleep deprivation from the last few days is catching up to me... plus the excitement of the season. i'm so emotional today... I'm crying for no reason (not bauling, just periodically tears come out. i don't know why!). I think i'm just so happy to have Simon with us for Christmas this year... and every year now I get sad that my grandparents aren't here for Christmas yet again... and this year I get sad because they never got to meet Simon... but then again, I do believe these emotions are also heightened by lack of sleep (due to my christmas excitement insomnia).
Today i'm heading to mom and dad's to do last minute baking and cleaning preparations for the big christmas gathering tomorrow. tomorrow my dad's sister and her husband and their kids and grandkids will come over (dad's family minus dad's brother - we really don't associate with him anymore). In total there will be about 20 of us (just my dad and his sister and their families between the 2 of them. that's a lot for just 2 siblings. i bet my grandparents would love that between dad and aunt bonnie they have 20 family members. actually, only 1 of which they never met [Simon]). Sunday it's back to toronto for christmas here. Monday i work in the morning (not that I plan on working! i just didn't want to use a full vacation day for a half day of work!). I'll leave work on Monday and head to pontypool. from there we will get all dressed up and head up to cameron for our christmas eve party at aunt faye's. santa comes and hands out gifts, it's very exciting. we'll leave there and head back to pontypool. typically we're home around midnight... who knows how early we'll leave for Simon this year. We'll come home and get our christmas eve pj's and head to bed... then we'll be up as early as Simon permits (this is the ONE year I will cave and not make people get up at 7am) and open gifts. from there we have to rush to get BACK to cameron and go to grandma's farm for christmas lunch... and then we spend the day there (minus michele, jacob and simon - they'll be at the ruff's). by christmas day night the 4 of us left (mom, dad, kristen and myself) plop on the couch and don't move until the 27th. boxing day we do nothing and i think we love it!
i have a plan of attack for my food. i'm so determined NOT to gain weight... but it may be inevitable. i was at walmart at 6:30 this morning to finish up shopping i FORGOT i had to do (buy mom and dad's xmas eve gifts from santa). i was there for an hour... it was fun actually. so close to christmas and walmart was EMPTY! i also bought tons of cup of soups and healthy request soups... my plan is to have soup as snacks and lunch as much as i can... i don't know why that is my plan. it just is. i also am taking home my tuna that i really like (costco ocean's tuna)... alex and i are likely going to costco on the 28th so i can buy more then... so i'm taking what i've got home with me to help me survive the holidays!
so far today i've had a ww bagel (2) with light cheese (2).
i will check in over the holidays every day of course... the posts will be short and without graphics due to being at mom's... but i will be a devoted blogger!!!

I'm so psychic
I was up.
But, I guess the good news is I was only up 0.8. not even a whole pound.
I ate my sub for dinner and had 3 lindor chocolates... actually, 4 chocolates now that I think about it. now i'm not feeling great... my stomach is NOT settled!
I may just put a movie on in my room and curl up in bed and call it a night!
I'll be back tomorrow before I head to Pontypool for CHRISTMAS!

Last WI before Christmas... no goal
I won't be reaching my goal. I'm sure i'm up today as well (but haven't stepped on the scale. I'm practicting avoidance). But just for ritualistic sake:
I should mention one good thing about my week. Yesterday we had our office holiday lunch and I didn't touch any of it! The agency supplied the food and all of us bakers brought in treats... I touched NOTHING! I ate my healthy lunch I took with me and didn't touch the desserts. It was pretty easy to do when I was still feeling guilty about eating all that nutri whip and the cupcake from the night before!
Good luck TARA!!!

You win some, you lose some
I'm going to be up tomorrow. There's no way around it at this point. My food has been acceptable, but I'm sure I could have done better. I was really hoping to reach a certain weight for Christmas... but if it doesn't happen this week, it will happen after Christmas. I keep telling myself it's OKAY.
Here's today's menu:
BF - applesauce (1), ww rye bread (1), 2 tbsp blue menu almond butter (4)
Lunch - romaine (0), cheese (2), tuna (1), olives (1), balsamic spritzer (0). yogurt (1). cup of soup (1)
Dinner - same salad as lunch (4). 30g of almonds (4). Nutri whip left over from last night, 6tbsp (2) - yes, I know that's not a very healthy desser for dinner, but it looked good!
Good luck tomorrow TARA! I hope you do better than me!!!

Woe is me
The scale has only gone UP over the past 2 days. I guess eating all those 100cal packs yesterday was a bad idea really. Desperate times may call for desperate measures and tomorrow may have to include the treadmill. I'll have to MAKE time. I really wanted to lose 3lbs this week (well, 2.6lbs i'd be happy with). At this rate it may not happen. I'll be sad if it doesn't!
Today consisted of work, going with the bride to look at dresses at lunch (that was fun!), then out with Alex after work. We didn't take time to eat so I didn't eat dinner until after 8pm... which I don't like to do, but sometimes it's unavoidable.
Today:
BF - yogurt (1), apple (1)
Lunch - lettuce (0), tuna (1), cheese (2), olives (1), FF italian 3tbsp (0). yogurt (1), orange (1)
Dinner - lettuce (0), 2 turkey pepperettes (2), light feta (2), olives (1), FF italian (1pt when combined with the drsg at lunch). tasting the cool whip frosting I made (3 maybe? i'll over estimate). walnuts (2)
Okay, time for biggest loser. I'm with you, TARA - I really don't care who wins!

Who doesn't LOVE pajama pants?
The first thing I do when I come home is slip into a pair of comfy pj pants... it puts me into 'relax, you're at home now' mode. The work day is over, it's time to be comfortable!
Today was one of those days where I couldn't wait to put on my pj pants!
I left Pontypool at 10, got to my place by 11, unpacked, showered, packed dinner, made lunch (all in ONE HOUR) and headed right back out the door to back track to Whitby and work. By the time I got to work I was very tired!
The good news? ONE WEEK FROM TONIGHT IS CHRISTMAS EVE!!!
I struggled a bit more... it was an 'off' day, I was exhausted... and I just wanted snacks all day.
To be honest, I was rather discouraged. I need to start taking MY scale to mom and dad's. My scale here had me 3lbs higher than the one in my sister's bathroom... so, over the holidays when I'm there for a few days - my scale goes with me. I need ACCURATE readings of where I stand with my own consistent scale (note to self - still need a new battery for the scale).
Here's what I had today:
BF - ate 2 100cal packs on the road (4 - BAD JEN)
Snack at apt - 2 more 100 cal packs (4)
Lunch - 2 ww tortillas (2), 2 oz chicken breast (2), 5 kalamata olives (1), 1 FF cheese slice (1), mustard (0), TWO MORE 100 CAL PACKS (4)
Dinner at work - smart ones (6), 100 cal pack (2)

I came, I baked, I CONQUERED
It's taking me forever to post this because I'm posting from DIAL UP at mom and dad's (now THAT is dedication - TARA, I know you can empathize on Pontypool internet frustrations!)
Basically, I've kicked butt this weekend at home. Yesterday I didn't end up eating much because I wasn't hungry, came home and helped with Simon and ended up holding him for his whole nap because napping was tough for him yesterday... before I knew it, it was dinner. I had chicken (3), stovetop stuffing (3), pasta/vegetable stuff which I do know was (2pts) because I made a point of looking on the package, parisienne potatoes x8 (3 i think? i forget now). I had a 100cal chocolate bar for dessert (2), and a 100cal pack for snack later (2). this is on top of my yogurt for breakfast (1) and my cup a soup as a mid afternoon snack (1).
I ate more today, but that was okay because I didn't eat all of my points yesterday. I have done SOME snacking while baking... but overall I'm really pleased with the lack of snacking I've done, I could have done a LOT more damage... i just kept reminding myself how I want to lose at least 3lbs this week and reach the 70 mark for christmas (what a great gift to myself, no?).
Today:
BF - yogurt (1), apple (1), ww tortilla (1), cheese slice (1)
Lunch - lettuce (0), cheese string (1), 1/2c tuna (2), spring roll (3)
Snacking while baking - I don't think it could possibly be any more than 5pts, but i will overestimate just in case (8)
Dinner - 2pc ww bread (1), 2 cheese slices (1), chicken breast (2)
Snack - not sure, likely a 100 cal something at some point (2)
Now i'm going to go out and shovel some snow for some exercise. I'm in Pontypool for the night. The consensus is that I should stay put tonight and go to work from here tomorrow.
I don't have graphics on mom's computer... so I leave you without any. Happy Sunday!

Proactive, I AM!
I'm heading to mom and dad's. This is always a challenge for me. 2 weeks ago I kicked butt. Last week, I kicked half a butt (one cheek?)I did great on Saturday and Sunday I started to fall apart. This weekend, I'm kicking a whole butt. a BIG butt!
I'm eating breakfast here I think... despite not being hungry at all. I feel too busy to eat, but I will make myself eat the most important meal of the day!
I've grabbed my dessert teas to help me get through the evenings.
I've pre-made some tuna to be able to eat at lunch today and tomorrow (tuna with frank's hot sauce, garlic powder, and red onion).
I have a serious goal of losing 3lbs this week (that will get me to the 70lb overall mark!) and I'm not going to let any tough days stand in my way!
I forgot to mention what a great day yesterday was (besides my poor lawyer starting to get sick).
At work a girl (my friend who is getting married, whom I am the maid of honour for - she started working at my work full time yesterday) happened to notice I'm losing weight again (yay).
Last night alex and i were walking about of the LCBO and out of nowhere he told me my face looks thinner... you have to love those little compliments when they say them because they mean them and not because they're just trying to be nice or they've done something wrong or they think you're mad at them and they're kissing butt... he had no agenda, just told me my face is thinner.
okay, time to make a christmas CD for the road and get OUT of HERE!

Keeping my EYE on the PRIZE
I'm being tested here (my strength and willpower that is).
I haven't eaten much today so that I would have points to enjoy when we go out for dinner tonight. Alex is running a bit late (he had a busy day)... so this is turning into a TRUE TEST for me. I'm pretty good now at NOT snacking before we go out for dinner on Fridays... but tonight it's that much later. I ate my lunch late at work so i'm not even starving... but it's testing my old habits and my tendency to grab snacks while waiting for things/people! I'm going to WIN this battle though!!
ALSO today i had the BEST surprise at work. I was paged to reception because someone was there to see me (you always DREAD if a client tracks you down and wants to meet you). I walk out there and who do I see? my sweet little nephew with my sister!! michele handed him over and let me take him all around the office showing him off. I was in heaven. It was sooooo hard giving him up and going BACK to work!! At least i'll be spending the weekend with him in Pontypool. Michele and mom and I are going to be knee deep in baking and i'm definitely taking breaks to play with him!! man, it's amazing how much I love that baby!!! I can't imagine how much my sister and brother in law must love him.
Okay, enough sap. I'm just so happy because i really don't see simon as often as i would like (that would be every day, BTW!)
Today's menu:
BF - yogurt (1), yep. one measley yogurt because i was running late.
Lunch - ww bagel (2) with chicken breast (2), cheese slice (1) and FF miracle whip 1/2tbsp (0). apple (1). *i had more packed but work was so busy i didn't eat any more*
*Edit to update dinner*: Alex isn't feeling so hot. staying in for dinner... ww bagel (2), morningstar farm pizza burger (3), cheese slice (1), 28mccain fries (4). 100cal pack (2)
I'm saving a few points in case we want something to eat later!
Happy WEEKEND! everyone better get all settled in a safe place and prepare for this SNOW STORM!

We have a LOSS
I was down 2.6! yay!
I don't usually post my menus on Thursdays because I really eat as little as possible to try to keep my weight down for weigh in... but in keeping with this honesty vow i took a few months ago... and due to the menu challenge, here it is:
BF - egg (2), 2 egg whites (0), blue menu ketchup 2tbsp (0)
Lunch - ww bagel (2) w/ cheese (2), apple (1)
Dinner - 12" turkey subway (12), 2 100cal packs (4)
Snack - another 100cal pack (2)
Tomorrow's FRIDAY! YAY! And i'm taking the 21st off work now! YAY (i just have to get a hold of the appt i booked that day and see if i can move it up to earlier next week. if not, she'll have to wait until after christmas!)
I also just noticed I've now lost 20lbs from when I recommitted to doing this hardcore 10 weeks ago. 20lbs in 10 weeks, not too bad!
Can I get some luck O' the IRISH?
Good luck to TARA and ME today!
Tara has already weighed in, I'm sure (since she goes to work earlier than me) - but I haven't heard the results so I'm still wishing her luck!
My scale shows me down a little... but the thing is, when you weigh in at the END of the day, you never know what the results will be.
I will return tonight to update.

3 down, 2 to go
Can't wait for the weekend!! Work is still very busy, although I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel I think. I was going to request the 21st off to go home a day early and help get stuff ready for our Sibley family christmas on the 22nd... but being the bonehead I am, I went ahead and booked myself an appt for that day. I'll think about calling the girl and rescheduling and still take it off.
I went for a massage tonight after work - Ahhhhh... massage! The lady was also telling me they have drop-in yoga and pilates classes on Wed eve's and Sunday afternoons... so I'm going to try it in the new year! I didn't know drop in's existed around here.
Nothing else exciting to report... No activity as of late and I've decided to let it go until after Christmas at this point. If I can get myself on next week then I will (to help prepare for Christmas), if not - I'm not going to kill anyone over it (I'm sure Alex is relieved to hear that, as he is typically the first person I take my stress out on!).
I'm already counting down to the wedding in September. There were brownies and eclairs at work today and I declined having any. Some people started saying "oh come on, you're making me feel bad. have one with me". I have a problem with this. don't try to guilt me into eating that crap just to make YOU feel better. of course, i didn't say this. what i said was "nope, i have a wedding in september, gotta get strict". To which I now commonly hear "that's not until SEPTEMBER!"... what do I friggin care when it is? the sooner i can get to my goal weight BEFORE the wedding, the better. I mean, it would be nice to be at my goal weight for when the dress has to be altered! geez people!
(side note - WAY TO GO TARA! only eating HALF the cookie? i don't know how you do that!!! That's why I have to resist to begin with. once i start - i don't have the will power to stop.)
anyway, on to my intake for the day (haha. this is my intake. i am an intake worker. my full time job is doing intake. why does this amuse me?).
BF - 2pc ww rye (1), 1 tbsp light JIF PB (2), yogurt (1)
Lunch - salad with romaine (0), pitted kalamata olives (1), 30 g light cheddar (2), sundried tomato (0), a whole flippin tin of tuna with frank's hot sauce which is good on a salad! (4). apple (1), yogurt (1)
Dinner - 4oz chicken breast (4), 1c ww pasta (3), 30 g light monteray jack (2), grape tomatoes (0), red onion (0). unsweetened applesauce with splenda (2)
DONE - no snacks tonight!
Here's a hump day funny for the season:
**GOOD LUCK TOMORROW, TARA!!**

It's always something
I'm full of excuses for not going on the treadmill. My heart isn't in it right now. Maybe it's the rush of the season on top of how INSANELY busy it is at work. I don't know. All I know is there's nothing getting me up at 5:30am to go on and when I come home from work it's dark, I'm tired... and can't get on.
I don't know what to do. Hmmm... do I succumb to the fact that this is a busy season and make a resolution to get back at it in the new year? Do I force myself (somehow) to go on now?
I came home from work today and ate some dinner and developed a headache. I had every intention of going on the treadmill at 6:30. I have yet to get on it. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up hoping the headache would be gone. It's not.
I did eat more today at least. Today's menu:
BF - ww english muffin (1), 1tbsp honey (1), apple (1)
Lunch - romaine (0), turkey pepperette (1), 30 g light cheddar (2), pitted kalamata olives (1), sundried tomatoes (0). 3 light rye wasa crackers (1). yogurt (1).
Snack - turkey pepperette (1)
Dinner - 4 oz chicken breast (4), 2 ww tortillas (2), blue menu BBQ sauce, 2tbsp (1), 2 FF cheese slices (1), granola bar (2), apple (1), small homemade gingerbread man (3 maybe?)
This is how I'm feeling today:

Is it Christmas yet?
I'd like it to be Christmas and for myself to have a week off work. Can someone make that happen ASAP please?
I was busy trying to get stuff done before work then work was very busy, then I came home and watched the finale of The Hills... and here we are.
I almost went straight to bed, but realized I must not fail this menu challenge Tara and I have going on!
Today's Menu:
BF - ww english muffin (1), 1/2tbsp light JIF PB (1), source yogurt (1)
Lunch - tin of tuna (4), 2 egg whites (0), relish (0), red onion (0), frank's (0)
Dinner - sald with romaine (0), turkey pepperette (1), 30 g light cheddar (2), sun dried tomatoes (0), 10 sprays of hellman's balsamic spritzer (0). source yogurt (1)
Snack - 10 wheat thins (1)
I just now have realized I didn't eat enough today... but I was too busy and then too exhausted tonight!
I spoke to my cousin Stacey tonight and she TOO said she struggled yesterday and just felt really hungry. What's up with that??
Now, time for BED!

That's it, I'm sewing my mouth SHUT
why am i so flippin hungry today??
Overall, yesterday was much better than today but given I was at mom and dad's and mom was doing Christmas baking, I really did restrain myself a lot more than I wanted (although, I'm sure I could have done better).
Sunday's Menu:
BF - 3 egg whites (1), salsa (0), cheese slice (1), banana (2)
Lunch - 2 ww tortillas (2), chicken breast (3), 2 cheese slices (1), mustard (0), 4 clementines (2)
Snack - THREE small gingerbread cookies (3), 100cal pack (2), apple (1)
snack #2 - turkey pepperette (1), craisins (2)
Dinner - BOCA cheeseburger (2), 14 low fat fries (2), ketchup (0)
AND BECAUSE I was STILL hungry - 6c smart pop (2), 100cal oreos (2)
Yup, this is way too much to eat if I want to reach my goal. At least Kristen and I shovelled ice/snow off the back deck for about 45min today. Man, did that work up a sweat!
The rest of the week shall be better! I plan on making some healthy tuna cakes to eat on salads this week.

Today I went to shoppers drug mart and cashed in on their points special day... i managed to get $400 worth of stuff and only paid the tax!! I've gotten my shopping done now except for ONE gift left to buy (i know what it is and where it is, just have to go there on a lunch and get it, perhaps Tuesday). All of the gifts are wrapped and I put them all under the tree for a picture, now I have them packed up to take to mom and dad's so that's one less thing i have to worry about in a couple of weeks when I head home for christmas!
I'm heading to Pontypool now to help decorate the tree and visit with my mom and dad.
Here's the tree with the gifts:
And here's the flowers Alex gave me for our anniversary this year (because I don't think I've posted any pics of them):

Thursday: The results post
I was down 2.8lbs!
Now, I wish i could take wonderful credit of this loss with hard work and lot's of exercise... but let's be honest. I have my sore throat and the fact that I haven't really eaten solids for 2 days to thank.
The next challenge will be to still lose NEXT week... when I'm feeling better. Also, let's face it. losing 15lbs by christmas is highly unlikely if i'm going to do it the HEALTHY way (and fortunately i LOVE food too much to cut back enough to lose 15lbs in 20 days). But i will be curious to see how close i can get to my goal!
Tara - I heard no mention of your Thursday evening visitors? Are you on your own tonight?
Happy FRIDAY everyone!

My Favourite Things
Now... when I say favourite things, what I REALLY mean to say is "the foods that are really bad for me, that I miss the most, that I will NOT go back to eating... (regularly that is)"
They are in no random order, as I love them all equally.
1. Krispy Kreme donuts. Ahh, I remember going in to the store in Mississauga and they would offer you a nice, fresh, WARM donut as soon as you walked in. Those donuts melt in your mouth. (and i'm not even a huge donut person)
2. Wendy's cheesy baked potato (mine would not have the bacon, but extra cheese)
3. Chocolate bars. Any kind. And king-sized chocolate bars. I could eat them all.
4. Cinnabon. Hell, I've never even had it but I know I MISS it!
5. Cheesecake
6. Cheesecake
7. Oh yes, can't forget - CHEESECAKE
8. Chicken fingers and fries. Or if you want to get really specific - buffalo chicken fingers and fries from shoeless joe's
9. Nachos. With sour cream, guacamole and lot's of cheese
10. Doritos. And not the little 100cal baked ones. I'm talking REAL doritos. Remember when you were in highschool and you'd have a friend over and you could sit and eat an entire bag between the 2 of you? (or if you're like me - remember when you'd eat a whole bag yourself?)
11. Poutine. Fries, cheese, gravy. I tell you, we Canadians are pure genius.
12. Lindt red chocolates. So good, so smooth, so melt-in-your-mouth.
13. Wendy's Spicy Chicken sandwich (otherwise known as combo #6. Yes, I was a regular there after an evening shift).
14. Pizza Hut stuffed-crust pizza. Putting extra cheese on pizza is brilliant. Putting cheese in the crust? PURE GENIUS.
You'd think I have my appetite back, wouldn't you? I don't. I'm just getting prepared for when I do!!!

Sick Day
I caved and called in sick for today. When you do a job that requires you to talk on the phone all day and you wake up without a voice - it's time to call in sick. I'm not very good at lying on the couch all day but I will try. I have my soup all ready to go... as well as tea... and if I get restless by noon I will head out to the mall (which is only a few minutes away) and do a bit of Christmas shopping maybe. Most people would start stressing that they haven't done their shopping yet (I've started, but nowhere near finished). Not me. I have a list of what I'm getting people and probably can get my shopping done within a day anyway.
My activity has been NIL and I'm trying not to feel guilty about it. I just haven't been up to doing anything. I shouldn't stress though... because as I said to alex - I'm not eating enough to worry about burning the calories.
let's look what what i ate yesterday:
BF - small banana (1)
Lunch - piece of crustini bread with shaved turkey breast and some chicken vegetable soup at a work meeting (? points i have no clue about but I guessed no more than 5?)
Dinner - Lipton cup a soup (1)
Dinner #2 - Lipton cup a soup (1)
That is all I had. I don't have much appetite. I only want the soup because the heat feels good on my throat and it's something different than all the tea I've been drinking.
I will likely update again later. I'm sure I'll get bored today...yet somehow I have no motivation to do much of anything. maybe i will try just resting. cleaning can wait until i feel better.

Ugh!
It's Monday. I didn't post all weekend. Basically my eating was fine, but there is ZERO activity to report. I felt like crap on the weekend and still today. It doesnt' seem to be enough to warrant calling in sick to work. I really have to go to work today and tomorrow, but if I don't feel better by Wednesday I just may consider it.
I have a sore throat, a cough, and zero energy.
I really don't even have much else to report.
Happy Monday all!

It's a CHRISTMAS Miracle!
T-Day

Thank you, Oprah
I got home from yet another very busy day at work and was ready to throw in the towel on exercise this week. Tomorrow's weigh in, i have minimal activity this week, i'm exhausted... might as well face the fact that this week's weigh in depends solely on nutrition alone. THEN Oprah came on and her show was about weight loss. Thank you, O. This was the kick in the pants I needed to get on the treadmill. So I only jogged 30min... it's better than nothing. Actually, now I may walk a bit while watching America's Next Top Model at 9.
Here's Today's Menu:
Breakfast - 2/3c spoon sized shredded wheat n' bran (2), small banana (1), 1/2c skim milk (1)
Lunch - salad with baby spinach (0), 30g light cheddar (2), peppers, celery, cucumbers, grape tomatoes (0), 3oz chicken breast (3), 3 tbsp FF italian (0). Broccoli marinated in hellman's balsamic spray (0). apple (1). source yogurt (1)
Dinner - 2 eggs (4), egg whites (1), Boca veggie sausage patties x2(2), ww bagel (2). 1/4c craisins for dessert (1).
Tara - good luck tomorrow!

L-A-Z-Y, I ain't got no alibi. I'm LAZY!
I have nothing more than the usual excuses anyone else has. I'm just tired yesterday and today. I don't know why. Perhaps it's because work is busy... but who knows. Perhaps I'm just lazy. Perhaps it's all psychological. Either way you slice it the results are the same (which will be a GAIN this week if I don't kick myself in the butt) - not enough activity this week. I really have to get back into the morning jogs because by the evening I'm too flipping tired (getting home in the pitch dark doesn't help either).
Here's today's menu:
BF - 2 pc ww seedless rye bread (1), 1tbsp blue menu crunch almond butter (2), 1 small banana (1)
Lunch - salad with baby spinach (0), mushroom (0), 2oz chicken breast (2), 30g light monteray jack cheese (2), ceasar flavour hellman's spritzer (0). green, red, orange peppers (0) marinated in 2 tbsp FF italian (0). apple (1), source exotik yogurt (1).
Snack at Mathews Professional Corporation - 100 cal chips ahoy (2)
Dinner - peppers and mushrooms (0) stir fried in 1tsp light becel (0) and becel spray (0) with 2tbsp FF italian for a kick (1pt when added with the drsg at lunch), peas (0) with frank's hot sauce (0) and 2tbsp blue menu ketchup (0), 1 morningstar farms pizza and basil burger thingy - which was really REALLY good (2), 1 FF cheese slice (1). SF jello, 1c (0).
Biggest Loser Snack - dried apple and date slices (2) with perrier (0)
I didn't see all of the Biggest Loser tonight, but I saw the end. Although I'm not a huge Kim fan, I do feel bad that the red team is eliminated. I guess we can look forward to Kim crying about it next week.
That's it, I'm being mean so it's time for BED! Here's hoping I can get my butt out of bed and on the treadmill in the morning.

Mondays suck
At least it's over with.
Today's menu:
BF - 1 egg (2), 2 egg whites (0), 1tbsp cheez whiz (1), ww bagel (2), dried fruit (1)
Lunch (in a hurry, running late for work): 1 flatout wrap (1), 1 tbsp light garden cream cheese (1), source exotik yogurt (1), V8 original bottle (1)
Dinner - vegetables including red pepper, green pepper, radishes, celery, grape tomatoes (0), 1/4c light tre stella feta (2), FF italian, 2tbsp (0). 2oz chicken breast (2), apple (1), source yogurt (1)
That's all for today. I clearly didn't eat enough, but I just am not hungry... and it won't kill me to not eat all of my points on some days. After all, in case I haven't mentioned - I have a wedding to go to in September now. I better be at my goal weight and looking FINE for my date that day! (hmmm... who shall be worthy of escorting me to a wedding??? heehee!).
1 day down, 4 to go til the weekend.
