The good word of the day? I got on the treadmill again!
My bed is calling me really loudly!
So, here’s what I ate today (sans photos – sorry!)
Breakfast: granola bar (2), 2 egg whites (0)
Snack: apple (1), chai green tea (0)
Lunch: tuna salad w/ mustard & black pepper (3) on a bed of spinach and tomatoes (0), another granola bar (2)
Dinner: ummmm… a protein granola bar (3) – yeah, I wasn’t feeling too hungry AND was lazy.
Total: 11 – that’s not right. I must be forgetting something in my tired state
I made a new batch of protein granola bars (as opposed to the ones I made the other night without protein powder).
I mixed:
- 2c oats
- 1/4c chocolate protein powder
- 1/4c unsweetened coconut
- 1/4c wheat germ
- 3 tbsp chocolate chips
- 1/4c natural peanut butter
- a few raisins for chewy factor
- 3/4c cup water
Mixed it together and put it into an 8x8 pan. It’s in the fridge setting now. I’ll cut them up and wrap them up tomorrow night. Voila. Chocolate coconut peanut butter protein n’ oat bar! That’s not a mouthful! The thing I like about these bars is essentially they are like the infamous “breakfast cookie” – but I have them made and portioned ahead of time. With protein – 3pts. Without protein – 2pts.
